Weekly seminar on May 21, 2014, 10.00 a.m.will feature a report by Mansur Iskender oglu Ismailov, professor of the Department of Mathematics, Gebze Institute of Technology, Turkey entitled “Inverse scattering problem for the linear system of 3-wave interaction and some of its applications ”.
The scattering problems for the hyperbolic system on the whole plane and on the half-plane in the case of two incident waves with the same velocity are considered. The scattering operators for the hyperbolic system on the whole plane and on the half-plane are defined and the unique restoration of the potential from the scattering operators is proved by reducing the Gelfand–Levitan–Marchenko type integral equations. Moreover, a class of continual system of nonlinear interaction of the waves is integrated by the inverse scattering transform.
