At the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences a meeting with the representatives of the United Nuclear Research Institute was held. The director of the Institute of Physics, corr. member of ANAS, the plenipotentiary of UNRI in Azerbaijan Republic Nazim Mammadov opened the meeting and said that the aim of the meeting is to meet with the applicants to be sent for professional trip to UNRI, to develop cooperation in the field of nuclear physics and to precise the prospectives of further joint work.
The head of the working group from Russia and the scientific secretary of UNRI Nikolai Rusakovich, the head of the department of social relations Dmitrii Kamanin, director of the laboratory of information technology Vladimir Korenkov, director of the scientific-research center Stanislav Pakulyak, from Azerbaijan the head of the group representing Azerbaijan in UNRI in ATLAS project Namik Javadov, the head of the laboratory “Higher Energies Physics” of the Institute of Physics, corr. member of ANAS Ovsat Abdinov, the head of Nuclear Research Center, acad. Adil Garibov and others were among the participants.
The member of the expert group, director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, prof. Misir Mardanov, the engineer of the Institute Vusal Jafarov, research associate of the department of “Computing mathematics and informatics” Aynura Jafarova have also participated at the event. On May 13, President of ANAS, acad. Akif Alizade received the representatives of the United Nuclear Research Insitutte. President of ANAS, acad. Akif Alizadeh spoke about the existing relations between NAS and UNRI and remarked that the practice of this Institute in the field of nuclear physics is very interesting to Azerbaijan scientists. Director of the Institute of Physics, corr. member of ANAS Nazim Mammadova addressed the meeting and said that this year the first year masters of the Institutes of Physics, Catalysis and inorganic chemistry, Geology and Geophysics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and also Baku Branch of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University will carry out practice in scientific Technical Center of UNRI on July and August. Then Nikolay Rusakovich spoke about the UNRI and the Dubna city of Russia where this center locates, the structure of the institute, directions of its activity.He noted that 18 countries are the members of UNRI. As the Institute is the international scientific center, many foreign scientists work here. You can see many authorative scientists from a number of countries of the world.
N. Rusakovich also noted that UNRI is independent of any Ministry and its Supreme Body is the Committee of Authorative Representatives. The Institute is managed by the authorative representatives of this Committee. The committee helds meetings twice in a year and discusses the main problems. The Scientific Council controls the scientific issues. The members of the Council are the known physicists from different countries. At the final meeting chaired by acad. Akif Alizade, a joint minutes with participation of the head of UNRI and authorative representative of UNRI at the Azerbaijan Republic was signed.
