12.04.2017-th year the next seminar of the department “Equations of mathematical physics” was held.  At the seminar, the chief research officer of the department, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Farman Mammadov continued his report on the important results obtained in the article by C. Gutierrez and F. Tournier on “Harnack inequality for a degenerate elliptic equation”. During the discussions, the formulation of the Heisenberg group H1 was given, a group operation in it and a differential operator associated with this operation were defined. Concerning these derivatives, we proved a weak maximum principle for a second-order equation.
