An event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor of the chair of Pedagogics of the Baku Engineering University, personal scholar of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, honored teacher Ajdar Agayev has taken place.
Chairman of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan Fattah Heydarov, Deputy Minister of Education Yagub Piriyev, Director of Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Misir Mardanov, deputy director on scientific issues of Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Vagif Guliyev, rector of Azerbaijan Pedagogical University Jafar Jafarov, President of Non-Governmental Organizations Forum Rauf Zeyni, composer Oktay Rajabov, representatives of High School and scientific research universities, educators, poets, secondary school teachers and students participated at this event.
The jubilee event started with a film about Ajdar Agayev’s life.
Rector of Baku Engineering University, Professor Havar Mammadov welcomed the participants and gave detailed information about the anniversary. He noted that the professor devoted 60 years of his life to development of Azerbaijani science and pedagogy. Ajdar Agayev has trained more than 50 doctors of sciences and philosophy doctors. He is the author of more than 500 scientific works and more than 40 books. He is also a poet, writer and journalist. To his poems were composed songs and performed plays. He has also been the author of numerous television programs in the Soviet era, especially in the education of young people. The Rector also spoke about the attention and care of the Ministry of Education in organizing the jubilee event.
Then director Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Misir Mardanov congratulated A. Agayev. He spoke about the first republican conference of teachers with participation of the national leader H. Aliyev on September 25, 1998 and about election of A. Agayev the chairman of the Education Commission.
Other speakers, spoke about the humanistic qualities of Yubilian, as well as his role in establishing civil society in Azerbaijan and wished him long life, health and new achievements. They especially emphasized that in his shadow, humanity is formed alongside with science.
Professor A. Agayev thanked the participants. He said that he is thankful to the body of Baku Engineering University and the rector of this University Havar Mammadov.
