Today, the “Optimal Control” department was hold its regular seminar. The chief scientist of the Institute of Mathematic and Mechanic of National Academy of Science Ziyatkhan Seyfaddin oglu Aliyev was gave a talk on “Exact boundary controllability for the Boussinesq equation with variable coefficients”.

The report was about proving that the linearized problem is exactly controllable in any time T>0. It was shown that approach is essentially based on a detailed spectral analysis together with the moment method. Furthermore, the local exact controllability for the nonlinear problem by fixed point argument was established.
