Today at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS was held an event devoted to March 8 – International Women’s Day. The event was opened by director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Misir Mardanov. He congratulated the women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8 and wished them happiness, strong health, family happiness and successes in their work.
Misir Mardanov recalled the well-known Azerbaijani oil magnate and philanthropist of the nineteenth century, Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, saying that “if you educate a man, then educate a person, but educate a whole family by training a woman”, stressing the importance of the woman’s role in society.
He noted that the result of Azerbaijani women’s labor is that Azerbaijani families are more stable and stronger than in other countries.
Then, People’s Artist of the Republic Lalazar Mustafayeva delivered a speech and congratulated the institute collaboraters with Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh’s poem “Mother” and with kind words.
Finally, gifts were presented to the ladies.
