Postgraduate Knowledge Day was celebrated in ANAS


On September 16, the Presidium of ANAS held an event dedicated to Knowledge Day.

Opening the event, the president of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the importance of graduate education in this institution. He said that one of the most important areas of the Academy’s reforms is the integration of science and education. With the support of the country’s leadership to achieve effective integration of science and education in the field of highly-qualified personnel training and to meet the growing demand of qualified specialists and scientific personnel in the history of ANAS, master’s degree in higher education was established in 2015. A. Alizadeh said that admission to the magistracy of ANAS was carried out in a number of priority specialties.

The head of ANAS said that the establishment of a magistracy at the academy is aimed at solving problems in several directions. The most important of them is the issue of personnel training. Of the 134 people who have graduated from ANAS, 82 are our employees. In general, 166 of the 204 people who have been admitted to the magistrate of ANAS, not only get their higher education, but also enrich their skills in our laboratories. ”

Akif Alizadeh said that undergraduates studying at the academy will be trained in scientific laboratories, get acquainted with the latest achievements of science, defend their thesis on contemporary and promising topics and communicate with prominent scientists. The scientist also said that all conditions for undergraduates to study at the ANAS are created.

According to the head of ANAS, most of the graduate students who have completed their Master’s degree in ANAS continue their education in doctorate and dissertation, 48 of the 74 graduates continue their education in Ph.D. Five of them have been accepted into the world’s leading universities, such as Oxford, France, Monpelye, China’s Jilin Agriculture, Russia’s Moscow Physical Studies and Turkey’s Istanbul Universities, and 1 of this year’s graduates has received full scholarships to Kocaeli University of Turkey.

Academician A. Alizadeh also spoke about the annual “Master’s” competition, which aims to support the growth of scientific achievements of undergraduates, and to stimulate students’ achievements in education and science. He said that this year the students of the master’s degree, as well as those in science and education, will be awarded special scholarships of the President of ANAS.

Alizadeh, who gave information about the results of this year’s admission, said that this year, the number of students enrolled at the National Academy of Sciences was twice higher than in previous years. He said that this is a vivid example of the growing interest of young people to study at the Masters of ANAS.

“For the first time, ANAS has started its paid master’s training this year,” said A. Alizadeh, adding that 120 students from 22 specialties and 75 specialties have been admitted to the magistracy of ANAS this year.

At the end of his speech, the head of ANAS appealed to the scientific leaders and teachers involved in the training and recommended that they do their best to train the Academy’s worthy staff.

Then, academician-secretary of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov presented statistics on the results of admission to the magistracy. He spoke about the achievements of the magistracy in the academy, innovations and achievements in the educational policy of postgraduate studies of ANAS.

In 2019, 8 masters were admitted to the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS. The first-year undergraduate student of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS Khalida Aliyeva with that made the highest score made a speech.

At the event, undergraduates of ANAS received student tickets.

In addition, the head of the doctoral department of the Main Department of Science and Education of the Presidium of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry Omar Gulalov, heads of the Laboratory of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, Almaz Tagiyeva and Nizami Mursalov, senior researcher Mahyaddin Iskandarov, head of the Education Department of the Institute of Control Systems, Doctor of Philosophy Sevinj Guliyeva, Head of the Training and Innovation Center of the Institute of Information Technology Rasmiyya Mahmudova, Head of the Education Dapertment of the Institute of Linguistics, Doctor of Philosophy Gatiba Kuliyeva and head of the Education Department of the Institute of Biology and Biotechnologies Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Ass. Professor Samira Rustamova were presented with badges “Advanced Education Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
