Today the regular Institute seminar was held. In the seminar senior research associate of the department of the “Differential equations”, d.m.s., prof. Ziyatkhan Seyfaddin oglu Aliev gave a talk “On the global bifurcation of solutions of some nonlinear eigenvalue problems for ordinary and partial differential equations”.

The report presents some nonlinear eigenvalue problems for ordinary  differential equations of second and fourth orders, and for elliptic partial differential equations of second order. Information on the results obtained in recent years and on unsolved problems on the bifurcation of solutions from zero and from infinity of these problems was given.
