On November 6, 2024, the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event dedicated to Victory Day and National Flag Day.

First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, as well as the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the freedom and sovereignty of our Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence. Opening the event, Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Misir Mardanov said that the meeting dedicated to the 4th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War is taking place on the eve of the National Flag Day – the symbol of our independence, and today the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan proudly flutters in the territories liberated from occupation. Professor Misir Mardanov spoke about the historic Victory won by the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev during the 44-day war, and emphasized that this Victory clearly demonstrates the strength of our army, the unity and solidarity of the entire nation. The head of the institute noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the republic is experiencing glorious days in the history of statehood, a period of development and revival. In conclusion, Professor Misir Mardanov congratulated the participants of event on November 8 – Victory Day and November 9 – National Flag Day and wished them success in their future activities.
