On January 19, 2015 honored scientist, laureate of State Prize of Azerbaijan, full member of ANAS, doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, professor Jalal Eyvaz oglu Allahverdiyev passed away. J.E. Allahverdiyev was born on September 17, 1929 in Shusha city of Azerbaijan.
In 1951 he graduated from Azerbaijan State University with honor diploma.
In 1957 he gained his PhD, in 1968 doctor of sciences degree. In 1969 he was promoted to the rank of professor. In 1972 was selected a corresponding member of AS Azerb. SSR, in 2001 a full member of ANAS.
Professor S.A. Allahverdiyev has proved new type theorems on completeness, basicity of the system eigen and associated elements for an operator rationally dependent on spectral parameter in Banach and Hilbert spaces, found necessary and sufficient conditions for complete continuity, boundedness, closure of the operators and obtained important results on approximate calculation of eigen numbers of operators.
For the first time in Azerbaijan he started to work in the field of control of stochastic systems. Together with his coauthor, he has given the theoretical basis of device for voting and received patent. He has obtained important results in the field of modernization of theoretical grounds of computers, creation of formal grammar of the Azerbaijan language, appropriate mechanism for receiving and describing deductive results of fuzzy sets in deductive machines. His most known result known as “Allahverdiyev’s theorem” was included into several textbooks including into the textbook on functional analysis.
Prof. J. Allahverdiyev supervised about 6 doctor of sciences and 40 philosophy doctors. He has authored over 130 scientific papers. For his achievements in academic sciences, in 1972 he was rewarded State Prize of Azerbaijan SSR, in 1981 honored title of “Honored scientist”.
