Today, the institute seminar of IMM was held. At the seminar, the head of “Functions Thoeyr”, doctor of math. Sci. prof. of ANAS Vugar Elman oglu Ismayilov gave a talk on “Kolmogorov superposition theorem and its approximative variant”.

The talk deals with the history of Hilbert’s 13-th problem, solution of this problem by V.I. Arnold and A.N. Kolmogorov, different strengthened variants and generalizations Kolmogorov’s superpositions theorem for continuous functions.

Representation by linear superpositions for discontinuous functions was discussed. Approximative variant of the Kolmogorov superposition theory was given. The role of this variant in neural networks was discussed and the problems open on this subject were mentioned.
