Hasan bey (Malikov) What do you know about Zardabi’s school and university education?


Hasan bey Zardabi was born in 1842 in Zardab village of Goychay district of Shamakhi province. His father, Rahim bey and his father, Selim bey, were also educated men of their era, patronized science, education, and art in the Goychay district.
Hasan bey listened to his lectures, debates and discussions, the books read at his father’s home. Hasan bey, who received his first education from his father, was then sent to the madrasa in Zardab. However, he did not educated here, but was admitted to a newly-opened school in Shamakhi in 1852.
Professor Ziyaddin Goyushov writes that Hasan bey has successfully passed the exams of the Shamakhi school and the head of the Caucasian Education Department, Baron Nicholas, had advised him to send him to the Tbilisi Gymnasium for his talent: At that time, Hasan bey’s father died. He was under the protection of his older brothers. Initially, his older brothers did not agree with his departure to Tiflis. The uncle of his father, general Feraj bey Aghayev learns about it and insists on Hasan bey’s education in Tiblis gymnasium. Hasan bey successfully passed the examination in 1858, with the consent of his brothers, and entered the fifth class of the Tiflis gymnasium.
Hasan bey graduated from Tiflis Gymnasium in 1860 with a silver medal and was admitted to the Nature Department of the Moscow State University, Physics and Mathematics faculty, in August 1861. Hasan Bey graduated from Moscow University in 1865 with “excellent” marks. It is no coincidence that on June 10, 1865, the Scientific Council of the Moscow State University gave him a candidate degree for its exemplary morality and his success in education.
