The constituent meeting of the Women’s Council was held at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Doctor of sciences in Philosophy Rana Mirzazade, Doctor of Philosophy Ziba Agayeva and PhD in Philosophy Samira Kadiyeva attended the meeting.

Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Misir Mardanov opened the event. On behalf of the staff of the Institute he congratulated Professor Rena Mirzazadeh on the occasion of her election as the Chairman of the Women Council of ANAS and wished successes to newly established Board. He said that the purpose of the meeting was to establish the Women’s Council and to elect its chairman at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics.

For the presidency of the Women’s Council, the candidacy of the Scientific Secretary of the Institute, Associate Professor Tamilla Hasanova was nominated.

Misir Mardanov spoke about Tamilla Hasanova’s activities. He said thats he has been working as an academic secretary of the institute for a long time.

The proposal was put to a vote and unanimously adopted.

Then a working group consisting of 9 people was elected to the Council.

Speaking at the meeting, Professor Rena Mirzazade stressed that the ANAS Women’s Council is a different organization than other non-governmental organizations. He spoke about the achievements of the Academy’s women in social, cultural and scientific fields of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Women Council’s activities in the public sphere, as well as on the directions of youth support for young people was also mentioned.

R.Mirzazade noted that the Women’s Council will cooperate with the institutions of the New Azerbaijan Party, the Council of Young Scientists and specialists and Trade Unions committees.
