The book “Fundamentals of Functional Analysis” by Zahid Ismayil oglu Khalilov was first published in 1949 in the russian language in the publishing house of Azerbaijan State University. This book was the first book in the field of functional analysis in the Soviet Union.

Now by the decision of the Academic Council of IMM ANAS, this book was published in Moscow in URSS-“Heritage of Physics and Mathematics” publ. house.

The foreword to this book was written by director of IMM, corr. memebr of ANAS, prof. Misir Mardanov, and lead. res. ass. of “Differential equations” department, doct. of phys. math. sci. prof. M. Bairamoglu.

The paper written by professor Misir Mardanov, Ramiz Aslanov and Araz Aliyev “Z.Khalilov’s role in development of Mathematics” was included to this book . In this paper one can find information about the life, the obtained results and the list of works of this scientist.
