On 10.02.2016 at the next seminar of “Applied mathematics” will gave a talk science worker of NQSRPI Kaklik Rustamova on “PRESSURE PATTERN APPRAISAL BETWEEN THE INNER SURFACE OF THE SEALING ELEMENT AND THE CYLINDER WALL”.
On the basis of theoretical studies the pressure pattern between the inner surface of the sealing element and the cylinder wall is determined in terms of the dimensions and mechanical properties of the seal under the unilateral compression. The axial load is determined in order to obtain structural integrity. An axial stress, required for sealing, and geometric dimensions’ relationship has been determined. It has been identified that a decrease in height of the sealing element leads to an increase of the axle stress, required for sealing. Furthermore, the threshold seal height above which the contact pressure is nearly independent of the axial load has been determined.
