The fourth seminar of the department “Optimal control” will be held on 25. 02.2016 at 11.00 AM. At the seminar Professor Hamlet Guliyev will give a talk on “Some optimal control problems for hyperbolic equations.”
In the talk the problems of controllability will be considered for linear hyperbolic equations with the third boundary condition. Then the optimal control problem it will be investigated related to flexural-torsional vibrations of the rod. Necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality in the form of an integral inequality will be derived. The problem of determining the coefficient at the low term in the equation of string vibration will be reduced to the optimal control problem and studied by the methods of optimal control theory.
