The Institute seminar on “Stress wave propagation in rectangular bars” was held


Weekly seminar on March 2, 2015, 10.00 featured a report by main researcher of “Wave dynamics” Professor Nazila Bilal gizi Rasulova, entitled “Stress wave propagation in rectangular bars”.
This report is devoted to the dynamics of a rectangular bar – a subject of interest for a large number of researchers over the past centuries, beginning with Gabriel Lame
The work is study the process of propagation of transient waves in rectangular bars, with the exact position of the three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The movement is caused by the action of normal impact forces, applied to the end section of the semi-infinite bar, all four side surfaces which are free from effort; these same types’ conditions are complicating factors in this task.
In previously known solutions, the sides exposed to the partially or completely mixed type conditions, due to which, it is possible to divide the boundary values of the waves on these surfaces. In the absence of this simplifying factors, make the design solutions that satisfy all the conditions of the sides, it appears problematic.
We find an analytic solution of the problem for the initial stages of the time.
