ATTENTION

On 21.09.2016 at 10:00 at the Institute seminar, professor Dr. Yuri A. Melnikov will give a talk on “Green’s Functions. Potential Fields on Surfaces “.
Addressing the practicality of Green’s functions, the focus in this presentation is on the enhancement of computational effectiveness of these functions aiming at the improvement, to a certain extent, of their `reputation’ within the engineering community. As a result, some efficient techniques have been proposed for the construction of computer-friendly forms of Green’s functions to a number of applied partial differential equations.
The present talk will concentrate on just a single fragment of the investigation mentioned above. The intention is to summarize our earlier elaborations in the area of construction of readily computable representations for Green’s functions and matrices of Green’s type for a specific class of applied problems never touched upon before in classical texts. Boundary value problems that simulate potential fields induced in thin-walled structures is what we are going to focus on.
